Fourth of July is just around the corner and that means it is time to start making plans for where you are going to park your lawn chairs for fireworks. I’d say it is pretty difficult not to find fireworks on the Fourth, but some can certainly be mediocre. PBJ has compiled a list for you of some of the top ranked places to catch a fireworks show for Independence Day.
South Lake Tahoe, CA – Lights on the Lake
Lights on the Lake is nationally ranked by the American Pyrotechnics Association for being one of the best Fourth of July Shows out there. The show is visible from all over the city and there are plenty of parks that host the viewers each year.
New York City, NY – Macy’s Fireworks Display
This fireworks show is known nationwide for using more pyrotechnics than any other Independence Day celebration. Not only does the city enjoy the show, but residence of the West Side and New Jersey are able to see it too.
Addison, TX – Kaboom Town
The fireworks from this show can be seen from anywhere in Addison, as well as inside the near 170 restaurants that broadcast it on their TVs. This 30 minute spectacle opens with an air show and ends with a bang, literally.
Boston, MA – Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular
This show is known in the pyrotechnics world as one of the most expensive out there. Boston Pops Spectacular is also one of the oldest shows there is. Millions of people from MA and from around the country gather together for this show. Additionally, millions more catch it during CBS’ live broadcast.
Washington, DC – A Capitol Fourth
It’s almost a given that this fireworks show would be on our list. A Capitol Fourth showcases 66,000 pounds of fireworks in sync with live music performed by the National Symphony Orchestra. The fireworks are launched from the Lincoln Memorial Pool but they appear to be coming from the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
