How To: Layer Necklaces

Posted on by

July is quickly coming to an end and that means that so is PBJ’s month of savings. This week all of our necklaces are 50% off! Necklaces are a common go to accessory for many because they are so easy. Throwing on a necklace is effortless. The current trend that we love right now is layering necklaces. It is a common misconception that only one necklace can be worn at any given time, but that is not the case at all! Layering necklaces is becoming widely popular and is an excellent way to get more variety out of your necklace stash.

The first look that we created is an all silver look. We started with a shorter, chunky chain necklace. This is a good starting point because it is large enough that it doesn’t get lost in the shuffle, but it is still subtle enough to be paired up. We picked out a longer pendant to go with this to achieve this look. Remember when layering to keep size and length in mind.

For our second look, we started out with a longer necklace. The variation of color and the knots make this necklace so fun. If pairing a necklace wit a basic shirt, a longer one often leaves the neckline open making the look seem incomplete. To remedy that, we added our favorite key pendant. The gold key compliments the longer necklace without being quite as matchy as our first look.

For our last look, we started with our glass bead necklace. This on is great for layering because it has a lot of shapes and color without being too busy. We paired it with a key pendant again… What can I say, it’s our favorite! The longer necklace in this look is a more casual one and the key adds some bling that really steps up this look.
